The Musée Jacquemart-André in Paris (158, boulevard Haussman, 8ème) is a wonderful museum set in a second empire grande demeure. It has an excellent permanent collection and also frequently houses well thought-out visiting exhibitions of various kinds of art.
More to the point for this blog, you can have a very nice lunch or tea under a real Tiepolo ceiling (at left) in the museum's cafe. You don't have to pay an entry fee for the museum to enjoy this experience.The museum is open 365 days a year, and is therefore a great place to have lunch on Christmas day (or any national holiday, for that matter).
